Humans locked down, nature unlocked, A global photo contest

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE Geneva), is inviting Application to share your images. 

If you want to take part in the contest, please submit up to 3 of your best photographs and provide the information using the form below by 15 September 2020.

During lockdown, we have captured seen some images of environment and nature, like animals walking through deserted cities, birds settling in gardens, butterflies flying undisturbed, plants growing in the cracks of empty streets. Images like these are unique and historical.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, based in Geneva, is inviting you to share your images.

How to participate

  • Each participant can submit best 3 photographs
  • All 3 photographs should be original and taken by the participant (the usual copyright conditions apply*)
  • All photographs submitted must be in JPEG format
  • Zip files will not be accepted
  • Photo should be high resolution and maximum size 20 MB
  • The selection criteria include originality of the photograph, visual impact and quality of photo
  • Only original photos will be considered.

Benefits

  • Best 13 photographs will be selected for the UNECE calendar for 2021 
  • Best 13 photographs will be show in the UNECE photography exhibition
  • All other outstanding photographs will be shared through UNECE website or social media accounts, if they fullfill submission criteria
